The recipe gets a nice flavor onto the fish with these 5 spice ingredients and is quite easy and quick to prepare.

Fish Fry Recipe Ingredients

2/4 Fishes Tropical snapper (or  Bangda/ Kingfish)

Or 500 gm any fish

1 tbsp Ginger ground

1 tbsp Chilli powder

1 tbsp Coriander powder

1 tbsp turmeric powder

1 tbsp vinegar

Prep time: 10 minutes

If your using 4 fishes instead of 2 and using a larger weight of fish then just use the above ingredients measured a little more accordingly.

How to make fish fry Indian style

  1. Scale and clean fish  and make  cuts on it  diagonally to absorb the marinade we will be applying
  2. Now add grind ginger, chilli powder, coriander, turmeric, vinegar and salt together  making it into a paste
  3. Apply the paste on the fish  and let it marinate for anywhere between 5 mins (minimum) to 25 mins if you got more time on your hands.
  4. To get a crispy finish that makes it nice and crunchy on the outside, you can coat the fish with some semolina  after applying marinade to the fish.
  5. Heat oil in a shallow pan and fry the fish pieces till they turn light brown in colour. Darker brown for a crispy finish.

This can be enjoyed by itself with some beer or a scotch as a starter. It also make a good add on to rice or veg meal.

[ This is also a very good recipe if you dont like bony fishes – as this recipe can be used to make a fish  extra crispy by frying it to a crisp, so that you can also eat the thin bones  when fried to a crisp finish.]
